Slow Startup Time
To determine which applications use the most time during your computer's startup run procmon. Menu->Filter->Remove all entries where action = include and press apply. Menu->Options->Enable Boot Logging Close Process monitor. Restart you system After you restart your system, restart Procmon Warning, if you forget to restart Procmon, it will run all day and use up your c drives disk space, the space can be easily recovered by deleting c:\windows\???.pml. Procmon prompts you to save the log, save it to you documents directory. Menu->Tools->Process Activity Summary Sort the events by File events, Registry Events and working set. Investigate processes with the highest values. Run Autoruns and turn off unnecessary programs. |
